The Foster Dog Chronicles

Dog rescue in Evans Mills, NY

l as the shelter staff. In visiting the shelter a few times a month we become attached to the personalities of these dogs. Imagine taking care of these dogs day in and day out and then having through no fault of the dog decide that there is no hope for adoption. We are fortunate as our local pound has a high adoption rate. They work hard to place dogs in loving homes. Unfortunately approximately 8% of these dogs never get chosen. Eight percent is not a lot unless you are one of the eight percent.
We are three people who have devoted our money, time, love and energy to helping these dogs. For every dog we help there is one less dog euthanized. One more loving dog that finds the right family. We are also grateful to the people that sponsor the dogs. These people provide the upfront money to release the dog from the shelter, provide immunizations, spaying or neutering and in some cases heartworm/lyme testing and microchipping.

A donation of 150.00
The individual dog's donation fees is equivalent to what it would cost you to recover the dog from the pound and provide the necessary veterinary services. The difference is that we are the ones bringing the dog into our home and working out any unseen issues, transporting back and forth to the vet and working on basic obedience free of charge. We do this because we want to ensure the health of the dog, ensure the dog cannot reproduce and because we want you to enjoy a lifetime with your new dog. When one dog is adopted out it gives us an opportunity to give another pound dog a second chance.
