Rescue FAQs

RAIN Rescue is an animal rescue organization helping the thousands of cats and dogs throughout the Phoenix area. We are a 501c3 tax exempt, no-kill, non-profit organization.

Our goal is to save as many lives as possible and raise enough money to have a shelter in the East

You can donate by PayPal. Or mail checks to R.A.I.N. Rescue PO Box 2006, Chandler, AZ 85224.

All donations are tax deductible and save lives!
Our cats and kittens are in PetSmart locations in Chandler and Tempe.

We rotate our cats and kittens between these two locations for exposure. They are available for adoption any day of the week!

Animals not in the adoption centers get individual care and love in private homes while awaiting their forever home.

WE ARE ALWAYS NEEDING MORE FOSTER HOMES!!!!

Adoption steps

  1. Visit the Facility and Find a Pet
    1. We are unable to do meet and greets without an appointment. But you can go online to see available cats as well as in-store.
  2. Submit Application
    1. While the stores do stock paper applications, we recommend filling out our online form as this e-mails us right away.
  3. Interview
    1. An adoption coordinator will reach out within 3 business days to you to discuss your application and answer any questions.
  4. Meet the Pet
    1. Our adoption coordinater will schedule a meet & greet once the application is approved. We do not accept walk-ins except at events.
  5. Sign Adoption Contract
    1. If, at the meet and greet, you decide the cat is a match, you will be able to sign paperwork then and there to adopt the animal.
  6. Pay Fee
    1. Our adoption fees are $175 per animal. We accept cash and credit card. There is a $8.31 processing fee for credit cards ($183.31)
  7. Take the Pet Home
    1. That's it! You will need to leave PetSmart with the cat in a carrier per their policies but you can take them home and get them acclimated!

Additional adoption info

When you've signed the paperwork, we will send you home with a coupon booklet that includes many PetSmart coupons including $5 a hard carrier if you need to purchase one as well as a free bag of food to go home with.
