Open Arms Small Dog Rescue

Dog rescue in Palm Coast, FL

*MAKING A DIFFERENCE…….ONE DOG AT A TIME* Open Arms, a non-profit dog rescue organization, is the “last resort” for shelter dogs that are due to be euthanized because of over-crowding and cost of needed medical attention. We also rescue neglected, abused and abandoned dogs found in puppy mills, on the streets, or with owners that surrender their dogs for any number of reasons. These lucky dogs arrive in foster care and live safely in the homes of volunteers. Each receives vaccinations, spay/neuter, dental, microchip, good nourishment, training and love-love-love before placement with wonderful families.

Rescue FAQs

Open Arms is located in Palm Coast, Florida. We adopt our dogs within a 75 mile radius from Jacksonville (north) to New Smyrna Beach (south). On occasions, we adopt to other locations within Florida if potential adopters are willing to drive to Palm Coast to meet a dog that interests them.

Additional adoption info

The adoption process begins when you contact us after finding a dog on our site that calls to your heart. A phone interview followed by completion of an adoption application is next. A meet-and-greet is arranged and if there is a "connection" by both person(s) and dog, a contract is signed. An adoption donation (usually $150)helps to offset the dog's veterinary expenses. Before an Open Arms dog becomes an official member of the family, a home visit is made to ensure the dog's well-being and safety.
