D.R.A.R. (Disaster Response Animal Rescue)

Animal rescue in Athens, GA

Disaster Response Animal Rescue, or DRAR, is a not-for-profit, charitable organization with 501(c)(3) status. Our current mission is immediate support and assistance to multiple local rescue organizations.

If you live in the Athens or Atlanta areas, Pet Supplies Plus has bins set up in their stores just for this purpose. Unlike national rescue organizations, every penny, every bag, every can of food goes directly to animals in need in your community. These are the animals that need it the most.

Disaster Response Animal Rescue was born from a desperate need to save the animals left behind in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and to cut through the red tape which continued to hinder their rescue.

These lost and hopeless souls had no voice in this disaster; we gave them one.

If you are interested in donating your time, services, or home to an animal in need we would like to hear from you. Please email drarrescue@bellsouth.net. You CAN make a difference.
