Kansas City Sheltie Rescue

Dog rescue in Mission, KS

We are a 501 (c)3 not for profit Sheltie Rescue Corporation, licensed in Kansas and Missouri. We primarily serve the Greater Kansas City area by rescuing and searching for great "fur-ever" homes for the Shelties in our care. We have actually been rescuing and finding great homes for Shelties since 2001. We are continuing our work as a breed specific Rescue Corporation. But, don't be surprised if occasionally you spot an Aussie or Collie in our list of "Available Shelties" Take a quick look at some of our crew in the slide show, then "read all about them" from our Available Shelties.

Additional adoption info

We require a secure fenced yard, Our adoptions begin with the completion and submission of an Adoption Application. We do have an On Line Application available on our website: www.kcsheltierescue.org. Completion of an application does not commit you to an adoption, but does start the process. Be sure to fill the application in completely to avoid processing delays. Once we receive your application, it will be processed. We do process applications in the order in which they are received, but reserve the right to select the family that is the best suited for each particular dog's dispositions and needs. We will check your fence and your references, contact your vet reference/s and contact you. Please take time to walk your fence line. Check the height from the ground up in the lowest area, check for gaps at the ground, between posts that meet, posts at the house or buildings, gaps around the gates, and at the ground, broken, loose or missing pickets, and wood or brush piles against the fence. Most fence issues are easily dealt with, so please take the time to beef up areas of your fence you find that are not secure. This will help get your fence approved and save time.
