We organized New Beginnings in June 2008 after hearing about and seeing all the abused and neglected horses that were flooding and overwhelming the rescues. We used to breed for our own personal use, but decided that there were plenty of paso finos (and other breeds) all over the country and it was simply a matter of "redistributing" the horses...(take abused & unwanted horses, rehabilitate them, and then place them in adoptive "for ever" homes where they will be loved and properly cared for. We are using our own personal riding horses to hold trail rides, horse soccer events, and demonstrations to help raise money for the care of the 4 rescue horses we presently have. We do not take in any more rescues than what we have proper living areas and feed for. When funding allows and/or horses are adopted out, we will take in others that need help. We are primarily a rescue dedicated to the paso fino breed, but we will accept other breeds, if we have available space and avaiable funds for proper feeding and care, (Presently we have 2 paso fino rescue; 1 Peruvian Paso; and 1 Quarter horse/Aribian mix). We expect to be receiving our 501(c)(3) letter of determination from the IRS sometime during the month of May and will then be recruiting volunteers to help run concessions at some of the local sporting venues (provided we can acquire an opening at one of the venues). We are also involved with demonstration for the Black Stallion Literacy Foundation, 4-H clubs, and the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts.

We will rescue from anywhere within the State of Arizona, but only if we have available space at the rescue at that particular time....(receiving out-of-State rescues is too costly to be effective).
Additional adoption info
There is an adoption fee based on costs associated with the rescue and rehabilitation costs of each horse. There is a lengthy adoption application form which must be made out that helps us in determining the suitability of a prospective adoptive "for ever" home. All adopted horses, by contract and for their continued protection, remain the legal property of New Beginnings. Adopted horses may NOT be used for breeding purposes. Adopted horses may NOT be sold or given away. Inspection and approval of the horse's new adoptive home is required prior to taking possession of the horse. Adopted horses MUST be kept current on all their annual shots and must receive proper grooming, hoof care and nutrition.
