4PAWS is a volunteer group working with animals available for adoption through the City of Harlan, Iowa Pound. We've been active since the fall of 2003 and place about 110 animals per year. Generous donations, fundraisers and our annual garage sale allow us to pay for administrative and animal care expenses.

Additional adoption info
We do ask for vet references. The adoption fee is $5 and a $20 refundable bond is required for animals that have not been sterilized. By Iowa law, all intact animals must be sterilized within 30 days with some allowance for small kittens or puppies. On occasion, spay or neuter rebates may be available. A photo ID is required at adoption and we may ask for any other information we deem necessary before adoption.
