Mountain View Rescue, Inc.

Animal rescue in Old Fort, NC

Our farm is located in the beautiful blueridge mountains of western North Carolina. We are dedicated to the one goal at hand...

To rehabilitate, re-school & re-home unwanted, neglected, mistreated & misunderstood equines. To place them in permanent, loving, forever homes. We understand the commitment it takes to be a good horse owner. Anyone can buy or even be given a horse, but unfortunately not so many intend to be his life long partner. Here at Mountain View Rescue, all our horses are assured they will never be forgotten.

We strive to eliminate the suffering and senseless slaughter of our beloved equines one horse at a time. From off track Thoroughbreds to orphan foals from nurse mare farms, we offer an environment for growth and learning and hand select adoptive homes to which each horse will be best paired with each adopter. If you or someone you know may be interested in adopting or fostering one of our horses, please download, fill out and return to us our adoption form & contract.

Additional adoption info

Each MVR horse that is offered for adoption is UTD on all shots, coggins, wellness check, worrrming and dental. Each has a reasonable adoption fee, typically not more than $500. There are no fees for companion horses, we ask instead for a donation to help offset costs. An adoption application is required to be submitted for review. We adopt to approved homes under contract only. After a one year probationary period, the adopter is encouraged to apply for permanant ownership of the horse.
