High Hope Haven is a non-profit 501c3 dog rescue located in SW VA. Donations are tax deductible and greatly appreciated. We are an all volunteer rescue and ALL of the money from adoption donations goes directly to feed and provide medical care for the rescued dogs. We feed our foster dogs what we feed our own, Diamond Naturals Lamb and Rice, either adult or puppy. Most of our foster dogs have been rescued from local high kill shelters, from the community who would otherwise be shelter bound or that have been found "dumped." Each dog is temperament tested for any type of aggression. We work with dogs to have good manners but do not rehabilitate aggressive dogs. We are very particular about the nature of the dogs that we foster. Unfortunately, we cannot save all the good dogs but we do not let that sad fact discourage us from helping those we can. They are quarantind for 2 weeks then spayed/neutered. They have been wormed, heartworm tested and are on Interceptor preventative. They are current on vaccinations and get Frontline flea and tick preventative. Sadly, In some cases, our foster dogs are with us as long as 6 months or more. All of these sweet yet homeless dogs are patiently waiting for that special someone to open their heart and welcome home their devoted friend and loving lifelong companion...could that be you? Thank you for choosing rescue; it is a huge part of the solution to stop euthanasia!

High Hope Haven is a small dog rescue located in Washington County VA. We serve the south west portion of the state pulling dogs that are at risk of euthanasia from local high kill shelters. We ask that our adopters live close enough to pick up their new dog.
Additional adoption info
As particular as we are about the dogs that come into rescue, we are equally particular about the homes in which they will live the rest of their lives. Please email Beth at highhopehaven@yahoo.com for an application. Email is most often returned in the early morning or sometimes late afternoon. If more than 24 hours have past without a response please resend. After you have submitted your application, we will contact you, as well as your references so please alert your vet that we will be calling. A home visit, if possible, will be conducted. Please understand that we try our best to place dogs in the home that "fits" that particular dog. Adoption fees vary based on the pet's age, breed, and size. The adoption donations usually range from $125 to $275 There is a greater market demand for certain dogs, based on breed, size or age so a higher adoption dobation allows us to generate increased resources to help a greater number of animals in need. Higher adoption fees are in no way indicative of the nature of the dog. All of our dogs are great dogs! A signed adoption contract is required at the time of final adoption. All of our dogs/puppies require a collar and leash to transport them home. Thanks for considering adopting a High Hope Haven rescued dog!
