Shelter FAQs

Our organization focuses heavily on community outreach and humane education in the East St. Louis area, providing low-cost or free veterinary care, dog food and shelter for low income residents with pets. We are dedicated to eliminating the homeless pet problem in our small service area.
St. Clair County, St. Louis, Belleville, Saint Charles, Alton and the surrounding areas

Additional adoption info

Walk into our shelter every Tuesday- Friday from 2pm - 6pm or Saturdays 9am - 3 pm and meet your new best friend! Found a pet you want to adopt that is in a foster home? Submit an adoption request form here: www.gatewaypets.org/adopt. We will have the foster parent reach out to you! Adoption fees are $195 for adult dogs, $250 for puppies, $75 for adult cats and $125 for kittens. This fee includes shots, a spay/neuter and microchipping, as well as any other treatment the animal may have needed upon being rescued.
