Orphan Animal Rescue is a no-kill, non-profit animal rescue dependent on volunteers
and animal lovers to provide adoptable pets with a second chance. We primarily partner with other
animal groups who may be at capacity, and we frequently have a list of waiting list for pets in need, so we refer owner surrenders to local shelters. Should an adopted OARS pet need to be returned to us, we'll work with the adopter per our adoption contract.
Some of the pets we foster require additional care before being adoptable - socialization, medical attention, or extra love.

Orphan Animal Rescue is dedicated to assisting pets and people living in Appleton, Neenah, Menasha and the surrounding Fox Valley communities in East Central Wisconsin. OARS purchased an adoption center in 2009 to showcase our adoptable cats that enjoy community housing until they're adopted. In addition, we rely on a team of dedicated foster volunteers to care for these adoptable pets in their own home until the pets are ready to be transferred to our cage-free adoption center. This gives us an unique perspective since we live together 24/7. The cats' likes, dislikes and how they react to other animals, children, adults, and other home situations (like vacuuming, the washing machine, etc.) provide us a wonderful ability to help match the adopter to the cat, for a happily ever after story!
Every cent helps! OARS is raising money to pay off the mortgage on our adoption center. Learn more at:

Additional adoption info
To take the next step in finding the purrfect match for your lifestyle: download an adoption application,
complete it and return it to adoptions@orphananimalrescue.org. We'll contact your vet and personal references and respond to you within 48-72 hours (please provide them with a heads up to expedite the application process). Upon approval, we'll set up an appointment for you to meet the adoptable pet. The adoption fee varies (see www.orphananimalrescue.org/HowToAdopt.html for specifics). Home checks may be required. An adoption contract will be completed at the time your adoption is finalized. If you rent, a copy of the rental agreement/ pet clause is required as well as a conversation with the housing manager. We do require that all current pets be up-to-date on vaccinations and be spayed/neutered. It is our goal to match the pet with the best possible home, for a lifetime of companionship for both!
