We've been rescuing cats and kittens since 2003. We take in strays and surrendered animals that people can no longer care for. We educate the adopters and public about the detriments of declawing. If we get a cat who is FIV+ or positive for Feline Leukemia, we do not euthanize the cat unless he is very ill. We're generally lucky enough to find a home where the cat can be the "only child" or live with another positive cat. Cats are NOT disposable and we believe we can find a home for every cat we bring in, even if it takes years... From 2003-2008 we've rescued 921 cats and adopted out 789. Our adoption rate is more than triple the national average (25%) at a whopping 86%! Plans are to break ground in spring 2009 for a new building in the LaCrosse area that will house several hundred cats.

We adopt from our rescue (our home) between Westby & Coon Valley, WI and also take our cats to Petco in Onalaska. Anyone who drives to either place is eligible to adopt from us.
Additional adoption info
Adoption Fee $95.00. All cats are tested for FIV & Feline Leukemia, spayed/neutered, vaccinated against Distemper & Rabies, dewormed, treated for fleas and earmites, and dental work is up-to-date. We have a short, one-page application for the potential adopter, who must agree NOT to declaw the Tabby Town cat. Adopters are shown how to trim the cat's claws. Adopters are given an adoption package including a coupon booklet from Petco worth $125, an informational packet put together by us, and a free sample of Iams food with coupons. If a family cannot keep the cat for any reason, we ask that they return the cat to Tabby Town. Adoption fees are non-refundable if the cat is returned; the fees are considered a donation to our rescue and a tax letter will be sent upon request. For kittens too young to spay/neuter (under 3 mo.), we will provide a spay/neuter voucher for our veterinarian.
