Greyhound Rescue & Rehabilitation (GRR) is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit adoption/placement organization comprised of volunteers, dedicated to raising public awareness about the ex-racing Greyhound; their gentle & loving nature, wonderful disposition and suitability as pets and companions.

GRR has been active since May 2000 and in that short time has successfully placed over 750 wonderful retired racing Greyhounds in their forever homes.

Our geographic focus is Westchester, Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Ulster Counties, NY and Fairfield and Litchfield Counties, CT.

Additional adoption info

Step 1: Fill in and submit our online application or call (914) 763-2221 to request an application by mail
Step 2: An GRR adoption counselor will set up an in-home visit with the family
Step 3: Profiling & Selection of pet
Step 4: Placement of Greyhound in home

Every greyhound is profiled. We do our best to determine their suitability with cats, other pets and children. They are given a flea/tick bath and a complete medical exam.

Prior to placement, they are spayed/neutered, teeth cleaned and innoculations are updated.

All are tested for heartworm, de-wormed, tested for tick borne diseases, and receive a non-slip (martingale) collar and matching lead.

Adoption fee is $275
