The Humane Society of Lincoln County is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing people and pets together…friendship is forever. Our life saving work is made possible through the generosity of people who care.
Our mission is to prevent cruelty to animals and reduce the number of unwanted animals through an aggressive spay and neuter program.
We currently rescue and provide services to owners from Mecklenburg, Lincoln, Gaston, Iredell and Catawba County. Help is provided through our low cost and free Spay/neuter Services, our Adopt-A-Pet Program, our Foster Home Program, and the Delores Stroupe Public Assistance Program.

Additional adoption info
To adopt any pet from our organization you must first be pre-approved by completing our Adoption Interview Sheet and submitting the form to a member of our Pet Adoption Team for verification or completing the preapproval online form by clicking on the link below. Approval can take anywhere from 1 hour to 3 days. Past experience has proven the adoption process to be more pleasant and simpler if you complete the application and become approved BEFORE you begin your search for a new pet. This application may be submitted directly from this website or you may simply pick up an Adoption Interview Sheet during any of our pet adoptions.
Completing an application does not obligate you in any way to adopt but it does pre-approve you to adopt most any dog, cat, puppy or kitten in foster care.
Once approved, an adoption fee will be collected to cover various services.
