Whiskers Animal Benevolent League

Cat rescue in Albany, NY

Our mission is to provide abandoned, abused, and stray animals with a place of comfort, safety, and health and ultimately find them loving, responsible, permanent homes. We specialize in helping animals that have no advocate, those that have been abandoned on the streets or who have been abused. Secondly, we seek to reduce the population of unwanted companion animals by arranging for their spay/neutering prior to their adoption or through our Spay/Neuter & Release program. Finally, we seek to provide information to the public on how to better provide for and enjoy their companion animals.

To help fulfill our mission, Whiskers operates a shelter and maintains foster homes for housing lost, homeless, abandoned, injured or sick animals. We conduct fund-raising activities, solicit public contributions, and sell donated items to raise money to pay for the veterinary bills to alter, vaccinate, and restore health to these companion animals.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption fee is currently $100. We ask everyone to fill out an application to enable us to make a good match between the cat or kitten and the adopter.

All of our cats and kittens are neutered or spayed prior to adoption, have age appropriate vaccines and have been tested for FeLV and FIV.

We have many wonderful adult cats and kittens looking for homes. Please consider stopping by and meeting some of them. We're sure one of them will pick you for their new home!

Call 518-458-2287 and leave a message or email for more information.

Otherwise the first step in the adoption process is to complete an adoption application at www.ewhiskers.com/apply
