The Chippewa County Animal Control Shelter is a county managed animal shelter. The shelter is maintained by one full-time and two part-time dedicated shelter attendants who, first and foremost, put the health and care of the dogs, puppies, cats and kittens as their primary concern. Although no public animal shelter finds it easy to maintain a no kill policy, we are VERY PROUD that we adhere to strict directives where euthanasia is concerned. Very stringent protocol has been adopted where loss of animal life is considered.
