Rescue Angels, Inc. - Virginia Chapter

Dog rescue in Arlington, VA

"Rescue Angels, Inc. is a public non-profit charity created to rescue, rehabilitate and find permanent homes for abandoned or homeless dogs of any breed that are on the verge of being euthanized. Due to a higher need for rescues in this region, our “target” animal shelters are located mainly in the Eastern U.S. We believe that all dogs deserve to live happy and healthy lives, so we work toward finding our dogs loving, responsible homes where they will have a nurturing environment for the rest of their lives. Because we are not a shelter, we rely solely on caring, responsible foster homes who are willing to play a temporary but vital role toward accomplishing our longer-term goal of finding the best permanent home for each of our dogs. We rely on the generosity of the public through donations, to help us provide the essential care and services these dogs need for their rehabilitation, permanent placement and overall well-being. Such care and services include vet visits and immunizations, transportation, proper nourishment and comfortable shelter."

Rescue FAQs

We work with potential adopters in the DC, VA and MD areas, but are not closed off to others that are within a reasonable travel distance if we can get a house-check beforehand.

Additional adoption info

Our dogs require an adoption fee of $250-$400. This includes their routine shots to keep them updated, the transport fee (we get our dogs from out of state from very high kill shelters), de-worming, heartworm testing, and rabies(at the appropriate age).
We require a completed application and contract to be filled out by the potential adopter as well as a house-visit to be completed before adoption can be complete.
