We are a rescue and have been granted non-profit status. None of our volunteers and officers are paid. Depending on the amount of foster home space and funds available, we will help with strays, abandoned, and injured cats and dogs which are not taken in at the local pound (Cherokee Village and Horseshoe Bend Animal Control facilities). We recognize that many animals are dumped and abandoned and left to fend for themselves. We do adopt nationwide and have been very successful placing dogs especially. Our volunteers screen adopters locally and out of state.

Adoption applications can be requested by emailing spanimalrescue@aol.com. We do check references and will require puppies be spayed/neutered at 6 months of age. SPARE, Inc. offers a $25 Certificate toward the cost of spaying/neutering which is honored by all local vet clinics. Fees range from $75-$275 depending on veterinary costs involved per pet.
