Companion Pet Rescue (Kansas City)

Animal rescue in North Kansas City, MO

We are a small group of non-paid volunteers that want to make a difference in the lives of people and animals. We strive for Quality...not Quantity. Each adoption is important to us. There will be follow up communication and post adoption issues will either be resolved, or we will resume responsibility for the animal. We have invested time, money, and love into each of these animals and it matters to us that they are happy and healthy in their new homes.

Who are we? Compassionate, responsible people that are committed to making a difference. This rescue is not about placing lots of cats or dogs in forever homes. It's about finding the perfect person...for their perfect pet. Not to say that all of the people are perfect. And certainly all of the pets aren't perfect. But together...it's perfect. It fills a void in your heart and life.

Sometimes you're looking for a very specific breed, because you've had experience with that breed and want one again. Or perhaps you are looking for a "small brown dog" that will let your grandkids sleep on him. You would be amazed at the animals in shelters, rescues, and humane societies. Purebred, mixes, young and old, and everything in between. They are just waiting for their perfect people to come get them.

If you are looking for a companion pet, please let us help you. We may not have what you are looking for, but we know lots of other rescues. There are so many animals in need, and it makes us so happy to see a pet in need get adopted by a person in need. You see, for us, it really is about making the right adoption. We want to be completely honest with you about what we have, and what we don't have. We want to match you up with a pet that is compatible with your life. We aren't interested in adopting a million animals a year. We want permanent, sucessful adoptions.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process is fairly simple, but not fast. We have lots of questions for our potential adopters, which gives us the best chance of finding a perfect match for our foster animals. We will get to know you, and you will get extensive information about the pet you are wanting to adopt. We do not adopt to the FIRST applicant. We will adopt to the BEST home for the animal. We have an application, contract, and adoption fee, based on the individual pet being adopted.

We do not have a strict fence requirement for dogs, because all dogs are different.

We do not have a strict "indoor only" policy for cats, because all cats are different.

For more information about our adoption process, visit us on the web at www.CompanionPetRescue.com/adoptionprocess. We are a 501(c)3 rescue.
