We are a VERY small independent rescue ... but let me introduce both of us so you know more about each of us..
My name is Tammy.. I'm married, with no 2 legged children. Animal's have ALWAYS been my passion since about 2 and i've alway's brought home stray / sick or just needy animal's home to mom / dad .. (*yeah they LOVED me!! LOL)..
Kim is also married and has a 20 yr old son (that is special needs) that also keep's her busy in one way or another (i'm sure you all know about kids).. Kim honestly should've been my twin as she was also exposed to rescueing animal's at a very young age and is as passionate about helping them as I am..
We formed Nuttz4Muttz in spring of 2002.. its our own little way of helping the excess animal's at the shelter's that the other rescues don't often have room for.
The dogs are kept at my home and Kim's on occassion so due to having my personal pets and also chickens and cats I've limit myself to the number of dogs I can take in, usually less than 5 RESCUES at a given time to ensure they ALL get attention..
Like i mentioned we are INDEPENDANT and DO NOT get help from the gov. or other sources so all money spent is out of our very small pockets...... :( sadly we haven't won the mult million lottery just yet so we do what we can with the money we have.

Additional adoption info
Unlike other rescues we don't have a set questionaire that you fill out the blanks and tell me what you think i want to know.. What i ask is that you tell me about YOU / YOUR FAMILY / what your looking for in a new companion animal.. This way i get to know you as a person not as an answer on a sheet of paper.
We also ask for personal references and vet references only to see that others feel that you would make a wonderful pet parent and that your past pets or ones you still have are being cared for - it gives me more insight into what we can expect for the animal your interested in.
There is a fee for each of our animals.. unless the animal has health issues then the cost is 125.00 for spay/neuter / shots / heartworm check / rabies / nails / hair cut if needed / bath.. ** in RARE cases we charge more if we have to BUY the dog out of the situation he / she is in - then the cost will reflect that and the vet work done prior to adoption.
there are home check's done to ensure that the home is safe / secure for the animal and this way we get to talk to the WHOLE family instead of just the one asking about the animal.. Our goal isn't to be nosey or judgemental at all our goal is to take an animal that has been abused / neglected / thrown away and put that animal into a better home where it will be LOVED and cared for until it crosses rainbow bridge.
Our adult animals WILL NOT leave prior to getting spayed or neutered.. We TRY to get them fixed as soon as possible but sometimes there is a wait and because of this there could possibly be a delay in getting the animal to his / her new family but is usually very minimal wait. IF the animal is a baby (8 wks to 3 month) we have the new family sign a spay/neuter agreement so that the baby can go to his / her new family and also so that we have room to help another..
