PRoNE was founded by Doris Aldrich and Fran Stuart 26 years ago. These ladies felt there was a need for loving homes for pugs who had lost their owners or could no longer compete in the show world.Doris Aldrich also founded the Patriot Pug Dog Club ( a club for pug breeders/handlers who show their dogs at AKC shows), which supports PRoNE. Most of us in PRoNE are not breeders but volunteer because we love the breed . We are always in need of loving foster care homes for our pugs. Most needed is long term or permanent foster caregivers for our more senior or handicapped pugs. We do not refuse any pug for any reason. .As crazy as rescue can get sometimes, I absolutely LOVE doing it and it is so fantastic when you see the new family going home together "happily ever after " !! I couldn't imagine not doing this work.

We are a non-profit, all volunteer organization working in the New England area. We only accept pugs from the NE area and we only adopt to the NE area. We do not take in or buy pugs from puppy-mill auctions.
Additional adoption info
We start our adoption process with an over the phone interview. There is also an application on our website. When we have what we feel is a good match between pug and family, the family is contacted and a "meet and greet " is arranged. If all goes well, the adoption is granted. An adoption contract is signed by both the adopting family and the PRoNE representative. At this time a non-refundable adoption fee is paid. Fees are adjusted by age and condition of the pug.
under 1 year ( we don't get many )= $300.00
