Las Vegas Basset Rescue

Dog rescue in Las Vegas, NV

We are a rescue devoted to the Basset Hound breed. We are a small, non-profit (501c-3), all-volunteer group of people who have the desire to help this breed that we love. We take in bassets from shelters, bassets lost and not reclaimed, and directly from owners who must relinquish them. Our rescue then evaluates for health and temperment. We screen potential adopters to try to make the best possible placement for hound and family. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date with vaccines, and vet checked before adoption. If for any reason an adoption does not work out we take the basset back into our rescue.

Rescue FAQs

We serve the Southern Nevada area. We do not normally place our rescues outside of this area, but will refer out-of-area applicants to a Basset rescue nearer to them.

Additional adoption info

We require an application, which is located on our website. Volunteers then go over the application and any vet references that the applicants has listed. A phone call to the applicants is made to talk about which basset might be right for their family situation. A home visit will then be scheduled. We do require a signed adoption contract. Our fees can vary, but usually are as follows: Dogs under the age of 2 years are $250. Dogs 2 years old and up are $150. Seniors (over the age of 10 years) are usually $100. Special needs dogs' adoption fees are negotiable.
