The Richard D. Klein Animal Shelter is the only completely open door facilty within Cherokee County which serves all of Cherokee and the surrounding areas. We accept all types of animals including dogs, cats, small livestock and some small exotics regardless of condition, temperament or type.
Our focus is on adoption of happy, healthy animals into great adoptive homes as well as increasing spay/neuters within our community. We also contract with surrounding areas for housing and care of stray animals, run a daily microchipping clinic for citizens of our area, participate in community outreach programs as well as many other functions.
