NYC Shiba Rescue (NYCSR) is an all volunteer group dedicated to contributing to the quality of life of Shiba Inu in and around the New York City metropolitan area. To that end, NYCSR actively works to rescue Shiba Inu and Shiba Inu mixed breed dogs from dangerous environments and shelters in order to find them loving, permanent homes. We will, among other things, foster and evaluate Shiba Inu in order to prepare them for adoption and seek out proper adoptive homes for the dogs. NYCSR also promotes responsible dog ownership by educating the public in the selection, care and training of dogs.

NYC Shiba Rescue serves the area surrounding the NYC metropolitan area which includes parts of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and parts of Pennsylvania.
Additional adoption info
The first step in adopting a dog from NYCSR is completing an adoption application. We will contact potential adopters - usually by email - when we receive an application and we may have further questions. We conduct a home visit and check references for all potential adopters.
After an adopter is approved, we will work to match them with the perfect Shiba or Shiba mix. All adopters must sign an adoption contract and pay an adoption fee at the time of the adoption.
