About Us
Most rescues serve as “adoption agencies.” Think of us as a feline employment agency with just one mission: finding permanent placement for cats who are willing and eager to work for their keep. Some of our cats are friendly; others are feral. But they’re all expert Mouse Managers. And we can almost guarantee instant relief from rodents if you invite them into your barn.
More About Us
We believe that trap/neuter/return is the only real solution to the feral cat “problem.” But sometimes returning cats to their old neighborhood is not possible. It’s the cats who absolutely must be relocated who need our help — and your barn.
Do you have feral cats on your property? We hope you’ll visit Alley Cat Allies’ Web site to learn about feral cats and managed colonies before you decide to relocate the cats.
Developers and Property Managers: We’d love to show you how that cat colony on your property can become an amenity! Your home-buyers or tenants will enjoy watching the cats, and a managed colony with neat and attractive but unobtrusive feeding stations and shelters tells your community you’re a good neighbor with respect and concern for the animals who share our planet.
Need Help?
We will be glad to put you in touch with people who can help you trap/neuter/return feral cats. But our ability to shelter cats who must be relocated is extremely limited, and chances are we will be unable to find space for yours.

Our Polices
— All of our cats are neutered/spayed, vaccinated and ear tipped. They’ve also been tested for feline leukemia and FIV and treated for worms, fleas and ear mites.
— We place cats in barns. But we will also consider safe garage homes and yards, as long as they’re far from busy streets. We’ll need to know that the cats are welcome in your neighborhood and will have shelter from the rain, cold and heat.
— We like to keep colonies together if at all possible. If there are no other cats in your barn, we will ask you to take at least three cats. We cannot send kittens to a barn unless they’re accompanied by at least one adult cat.
— We know that cats cannot live on mice alone. So we’ll ask that the cats receive at least one meal a day and always have access to fresh water of their own.
— To keep them from wandering off, the cats should be confined in your barn for at least two weeks. We will loan you large crates, litter boxes and other supplies if you need them.
— We will deliver cats anywhere within a day’s round-trip drive of the Baltimore/Washington area.
— Although there is no adoption fee, we appreciate donations.
