Henry County Humane Society (HCHS) is an all volunteer run, no-kill animal shelter located in McDonough,GA.
HCHS was founded in 1979 and functioned as a foster home based rescue group until 2005. In 2005 Henry County Splost Funds were used to build a new animal control shelter and Henry County's Board of Commissioners granted HCHS use of the former animal control building. After a complete renovation, the Henry County Humane Society shelter opened as a happy safe haven for Henry County's homeless pets.
HCHS depends entirely on private donations, fundraisers and adoption fees to carry out its mission. HCHS is a private organization, not a county agency, and receives no government funding nor any funding from national humane organizations. Donations can be made via PayPal from a link on our homepage at www.henryhumane.com or mailed to HCHS, PO Box 941, McDonough, GA 30253. Donations are much appreciated!
HCHS is a non-profit organization and licensed by the Georgia State Department of Agriculture.
