Catalina Island Humane Society is located in the town of Avalon, on beautiful Santa Catalina Island, which is off the coast of Southern California. We are a volunteer organization in a small community with a tiny shelter.
We welcome visitors from the mainland to come for a vacation and go home with a darling addition to your family! Our island adoptees are primarily the domesticated offspring of feral island cats.
We actively use the Trap, Neuter, Return method of animal control for our feral population. Though the numbers of feral cats has greatly been reduced since the inception of TNR, we always have kitties in need of homes!
