Rescue FAQs

We are a small group of people in Arkansas trying desperately to save dogs from euthanasia, being hit by cars, abused by their owners, etc.
We have many, many HIGH kill shelters in this state. We rescue dogs almost every day and we try to find them real homes that will love them
and make them part of their families.

Baxter County, Marion County and Mountain Home Arkansas.

Additional adoption info

If you need more information on one of our dogs or cats please call or email. We will be happy to tell you all about them.

Call or email us for an adoption application. Complete the adoption application and return.

Fenced in yard is preferred for anyone adopting a dog

If adopting a cat, the adopter must agree that the cat will stay indoors all the time as all of our cats are strictly inside cats.

Veterinarian reference

.
All dogs and cats in the household must be spayed/neutered

References listed on this application will be checked & we do require a HOME VISIT PRIOR to any adoption.

Our main goal is to make the best possible match between the dog and the adopter.

Adoptions are not on a first come first serve basis.
Please be aware that we do require an application, veterinary references and do HOME CHECKS BEFORE placing our dogs.

There is a minimum adoption donation which helps us to offset veterinary costs (YES, THE VETS DO CHARGE US & IT IS NOT CHEAP!)
for the dog you adopt and so that we can continue to help OTHERS in need.

All of our dogs receive any necessary medical treatment, are up to date on their shots (based on age) and are spayed or neutered prior to adoption.

If renting, a copy of the Landlord/Lease Agreement stating that pets are allowed, what type of pets, size of pets are allowed and how many pets allowed. If a pet deposit is required, proof that the deposit has been paid is also required.

Ozark Mutts and Stuff is soley interested in adopting our Furkids to good homes and not to make a profit on any adoption.

Please remember, you are not paying for the dog. You are helping to offset some of the costs associated with spaying and neutering; heartworm testing and preventative; basic vaccines and parasite control; and shelter fees where applicable. Also, there are many dogs that come to us with problems that have expensive veterinary bills, i.e. heartworm treatment, broken legs, mange. After adoption we are always available to assist and advise our adoptive families in every way we can. If for any reason an adoption does not work out, we want the animal back.
