We are the Buffalo City Pound that takes in strays or animals that the owners do not want anymore.
We are a small group of dedicated volunteers that want to find forever homes for unwanted cats and dogs.
Home for Life Outreach Program, a local organization, helps the animals at the City Pound by providing the animals with food, litter, treats and comfort items. Because Home For Life does this, we are able to keep the pound a NO-KILL Shelter. We rely strictly on donations, fund raising, and grants. Home For Life also provides a sanctuary for cats and dogs, that for various reasons can not be adopted out. They are 501(3)c organization. On the City Pound web site there is a form to download so you can sponsor an animal or you can make a donation to Home For Life. Donations are tax deductible.
We are focusing on educating the public on the importance of spaying and neutering and educating the public about the well being of their pets. We are looking for foster homes for both cats and dogs as well as volunteers to help us at our Petsmart adoption site.
We believe that the animals deserve a second chance.
We have placed many dogs/cats in loving homes. Adopters have been very satisfied with their adopted pet.
One adopter recently said, " It was the best $60.00 we ever spent". Comments like that make what we do worthwhile.
