New Beginnings Cat Rescue

Cat rescue in Garland, TX

New Beginnings Cat Rescue (NBCR) is a 501(c)3 non-profit group. Founded in 2005, NBCR is an all volunteer, no-kill, foster based cat rescue dedicated to rescuing cats from euthanasia at local city shelters.

NBCR is dedicated to alleviating the crisis and tragedy of unwanted and abandoned cats, with an emphasis on addressing cat overpopulation issues and educating the public about the importance of spaying and neutering.

With respect and compassion for all cats, New Beginnings Cat Rescue promotes lifelong relationships between people and animals, providing foster care for each precious life until adopted into a good home. We strive to work with animal control and other rescue groups to save homeless cats in our community.

Additional adoption info

Our focus is to place animals in loving, permanent homes where they will be cared for responsibly. Potential adopters or fosters are screened, up to and including home visits. We reserve the right to refuse placement of an animal for any reason. We thank you for understanding.

Adopters must be 21 years or older and willing to invest the time and money required to care for a pet. In addition to providing love and attention, regular medical care is required. Please ask if you would like more information about veterinary fees and costs.

Our animals come from a variety of situations. Some have been dumped at shelters or vets, and many are ill or malnourished when rescued. Although the animal has been in a protected environment, there is the possibility of unrecognized illness appearing after an adoption is finalized, especially because of the stress the animal may experience during the first few days at its new home. We advise adopters of the animal's known history and provide its veterinary records, but frequently we know only what the animal chooses to tell us. We cannot make any guarantee regarding the long-term health of any animal. Adoption fees are generally not refundable unless prior arrangements are made.

If you feel that you are ready to adopt, please e-mail adoptions@nbcrtx.org for prompt attention. A NBCR adoption counselor will contact you to arrange an interview.
