It is sad to announce that we will not be doing rescue for a while. My husband has had open heart surgery and two heart attacks since. Our grandson (who we are raising) has been diagnosed with epilepsy so it has taken us over a year to find a medication that may stop the seizures but we have at least another year to make sure this is the right one. We miss doing our rescue work but it is necessary to take care of family first. We are hoping to be back in a year or so. Please keep our family in your prayers! Thank you all for supporting our rescue. We hope to see you all again soon! Thanks Linda, Otis and Austin. Update: August 20, 2008 Otis has been hospitalized several times since the last announcement. He has severe ostio arthritis along with his heart problems, diabetes and many other problems. We still help to find rescues when someone calls who needs a home or rescue for their animals and have taken in a couple to hold until we can get them to another rescue. We love animals too much not to help. Austin is finally on a medication that has taken away the seizures pretty much. He has not had one for a long time (knock on wood) Please, if you need us, call us and we will try to help you find a rescue for your animal.

Additional adoption info
To adopt from us you must qualify by filling out an application that I send to you after you email me. I do vet checks if you have owned animals before. If you qualify this far and are close enough to us, I do a home visit with the dog and the entire family. If the home visit goes well, we can either do the contract at that time or we can meet at a later date and do the contract and you take the dog home at this time. We only want to know that our babies will be cared for properly after adoption! We do have you take your animal to the vet within a week of adoption to assure that we have not missed anything like worms, you need to take a fecal when you take them in! Also, you are required at that time to get the flea and heartworm meds that your animal needs. So you will have another investment after adoption! This is a requirement, not an option to for go! We want to know our furbabies are safe from heartworm and fleas!
