I am a shelter liaison with the Smyth County Humane Society, Marion, Va. We are a non sheltered organization that works with the local animal shelter attempting to find homes or rescues for abandoned and stray pets that are picked up by or surrendered at the shelter. We also focus on population control by assisting low income families in having their pets spayed or neutered. As an approved transfer agent, our organization can pull animals from this shelter for adoption outside of the shelter's adoption jurisdictions.
