Mid Hudson Animal Aid is a no-kill cat sanctuary located in beautiful Beacon New York. We take in mostly special cases, not typical owner-surrenders, but animals that are abused, abandoned, and in desperate need. Once they come to the sanctuary, we do our absolute best to get them adopted, but if they do not, they spend the rest of their lives roaming around our shelter with veterinary care, food, water, shelter, and love.

We serve primarily the Hudson Valley of New York, mostly the Beacon area. While we try to keep our rescues within the area, sometimes there are special situations that we can help with in farther away areas, and we will sometimes do so if we can.
Additional adoption info
To adopt from MHAA, there is an adoption application. We ask for two personal references, and a veterinarian reference, if you have, or have previously had animals. When approved, we will give you a call and let you know when you are approved. Rarely is an adoption a one day process, though it is possible, if all references check out and the application is good. Adoption fees vary by age of the cat and whether the cat is special needs or not.
