Animals Depend On People Too, Inc., a not-for-profit volunteer organization is a group of animal lovers dedicated to helping stray, abandoned, homeless and injured animals at the Cranston Animal Shelter and throughout the state. Some of us have been involved as volunteers with the Cranston Animal Shelter for the last thirty-one years. We original volunteers saw a need to enhance on what we were able to do to help the vast number of homeless pets coming through the City Shelter. Thus, A.D.O.P.T. was born. For the last twenty years our organization has been helping homeless pets by providing necessary life-saving veterinary care. Numerous companion pets have been given a second chance at life due to our efforts. We also provide specialized food and supplies when needed and educate the public to the need for the humane treatment and care of animals and the importance of spaying and castration. We also assist pet owners with catastrophic, overwhelming veterinary bills. Without our help these pets may not survive. Only with your help can we continue to provide needed care to the less fortunate companion animals and their families in our communities. We are in the business to help those who cannot help or heal themselves. Our major fundraising events are Pet Photos with Santa, Rudolph & Frosty, the original Pet Photos With the Easter Bunny and our Golf Tournament in May and a dinner in the fall. Your donations also help us with vaccines such as rabies, distemper/Parvovirus, Feline Leukemia testing, Heartworm testing, etc in addition to the numerous spays, neutering, Heartworm treatments, parvo and upper respiratory treatments along with other medical treatments given to homeless pets in need. We have also helped many family pets throughout the state this year. Every dollar that you can spare helps us in our cause. We could never have accomplished what we have without your support. Please remember us through your payroll deductions. Our United Way Number is 4818

We originated to help the homeless pets at the Cranston Animal Shelter, but as calls started coming in, we realized there were a lot of owned pets that also needed help. We now help pets throughout the State of Rhode Island.
