Humane Society of Moab Valley

Animal rescue in Moab, UT

Currently, the Humane Society of Moab Valley(HSMV) has two staff members and thirty volunteers. We operate a no-kill foster program where every adoptable animal finds a new, loving home. Volunteer foster families care for and train foster dogs and cats until such time as a suitable adoptive family can be found.
The Humane Society of Moab Valley was started in 1999 by some dedicated volunteers to address the City of Moab's euthanization rate: 45% of all dogs and 88% of the cats who were brought into the system were being euthanized. Since October of 2003 - not one adoptable dog or cat has been put to sleep.
HSMV is also a partner in the No More Homeless Pets in Utah program and in January 2005 signed an agreement to rescue every single adoptable dog and cat from the City of Moab Animal Control. We are always searching for suitable foster homes and for donations to board animals until a foster can be found.
The Humane Society of Moab has also partnered with the City of Moab to raise funds for Moab's First Animal Shelter. Together we have raised $150,000 and are working to raise $100,000 more.

We now have our new office inside our NEW city shelter!
