was
formed
for the purpose of finding homes for abandoned animals in Nassau
County. The animals are taken to local participating veterinarians,
tested for disease, neutered or spayed, and given all the appropriate
inoculations.
We
do not run a shelter. The animals are fostered by members of STARS
until a suitable, caring home is found for the animal. This is done
through Adopt-A-Pet events, local advertisement, and listings on the internet.
