CTGRR is an all-volunteer rescue group dedicated to finding forever homes for Golden Retrievers and Retriever Mixes. We work to encourage responsible dog ownership, educate backyard breeders, and reduce the abuse and neglect of all Golden Retrievers. Through funding and donations, we provide veterinary care and behavior evaluation prior to adoption so that each Golden can be given a new chance at being a healthy and happy animal. Each of our dogs is spayed or neutered and brought up to date on shots. All known medical conditions and behavioral traits are freely disclosed, and we work hard to ensure a great match for the dog and its new home.

Additional adoption info
All potential adopters must complete our online adoption application at our main website (www.ctgoldenrescue.com) and submit it electronically. You may also send an inquiry e-mail to us at ctgrr@hotmail.com, but only those who have completed an online application will be considered to adopt. We will contact only the applicant who appears to be the best match for the dog. A subsequent phone interview, vet check, reference check, and home visit are required. We ask each adopter to make a long-term commitment to the dog, so that they truly go to a "forever" home. However, should the completed adoption turn out not be all that it should be, we require that the dog be returned us for re-homing. The adoption fee is $225 ($150 for "seniors" over 6 years old), and there may be an additional long-distance transport fee of $150 if we have partnered with an out of state rescue group to bring this dog to our area (that fee is paid directly to a transport company when incurred). These fees do not begin to cover the costs of operating our rescue, so we gladly welcome any additional donations.
