Greater Richmond, Virginia Domestic Rabbit Rescue is here to help! If you’re interested in adopting, fostering, or volunteering in the RVA area, we’d love to hear from you.
We started in the spring of 2023, sparked by a situation we call a “bunny explosion”—when a bunny is misgendered, leading to an unexpected litter. We quickly discovered that these “fluffles” happen all too often. With rabbits able to reproduce as early as 3 months and every 28 days, many new owners are unprepared, especially since many places selling rabbits don’t offer adequate guidance.
After reaching out to shelters and rescues in the area, we found no one had room—or in some cases, didn’t take rabbits at all. So, we stepped up. We created posters, launched social media accounts, and even tried making a Tinder account for the bunnies! Before long, we grew into the organization we are today.
We serve Richmond Virginia area.
