Russell Rescue of the Carolinas, Inc is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit breed specific foster-based rescue with fosters homes currently located in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia.
As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central location. Each of our dogs moves into a foster home to be cared for as a member of the family. These pups come from county shelters, owner surrenders, strays, or vet referrals. In a foster home, we are able to assess the dog for potential behavioral characteristics, recognize common health needs such as a dental for older pups, or assist in teaching basic manners. Our adoptable dogs come from many situations and we attempt to provide the most knowledge we can to assist in your search.
Each of our terriers will come with full vaccinations, will be heartworm tested, microchipped, and altered. We do not adopt out dogs that have not been sterilized unless they are too young for the procedure. The rescue will then hold a deposit until the owner has the dog altered at the appropriate age and determination of the rescue. If the dog is a senior, they may have blood work or a dental if it has been determined the need will benefit quality of life.
