Paws for Parker Refuge and Rescue formed from the ashes of a very tragic event. My husband and I tried for 11 years to have a child only to be told that we should start looking into foster care. So, when we learned I was pregnant we were overjoyed to learn that I carried a healthy son. The doctor gave us a date of August. However, the fateful St. Patrick's Day my water broke. They told me that in order for the chance for the child to survive to viability, to give him time for his lungs to develop, I needed to lay flat. It still wasn't enough for him to remain with us. One week later, almost 20 weeks, I gave birth to Parker but his lungs had not yet developed. He was stillborn.
I ended up in a depressed period after the death of my son. I remembered how our Pup Hershey would lay her head or paw on my belly and I felt him kick. Eventually, my husband and I decided to honor our son by saving lives with paws. Thus, Paws for Parker Refuge and Rescue was born in Parker Lee's Honor.
Our goal now to try to help change the face of the rescue world. Right now most are foster based rescues which we are as of right now. However, by the end of the year we hope to break ground on an actual facility which it seems not a lot of rescues have at this current time. We look forward to providing services for seniors, maternity wards, puppies, onsite vetting, knowledge about breeds, and breed specifics areas. We also will provide boarding for rescues and the public. Lots of amazing services coming our way in 2020. Any donations will help us reach our goals
