Santa Barbara County Animal Services is the leading animal welfare organization in Santa Barbara County, caring for nearly 6,000 pets in their shelters annually, and thousands of families across the community. SBCAS is dedicated to promoting responsible pet ownership and providing comprehensive animal care services to enhance the lives of both pets and people in the community. Through various programs and initiatives, the organization strives to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of animals.
Mission: To ensure the health, safety, and welfare of the animals and people we serve through proactive intervention, effective enforcement, collaboration, education, and the compassionate care and rehoming of sheltered animals.

Santa Barbara County Animal Services provides enforcment, licensing, and sheltering services to Santa Maria, Lompoc, Solvang, Buellton, Guadalupe, Goleta, The Chumash Tribe of Santa Ynez Valley, and unincorporated parts of Santa Barbara County. We provide shelter services only to the city of Santa Barbara.
Additional adoption info
Potential adopters must fill out an application/survey and be screened by a staff member or volunteer to ensure that the animal you have selected will be a good match in your household. Please contact the office staff at the shelter to begin the adoption process.
