Paw Pals of Hale Center Portland

Dog rescue in Portland, OR

PAW Pals of Hale Center was founded in March 2016 and officially became a 501c(3) nonprofit in April 2019. We are a small, volunteer based rescue in Hale Center, TX (about 30 miles north of Lubbock). PAW Pals works to rehome dogs impounded by the City of Hale Center who are not reclaimed. We also routinely pull dogs from high-kill shelters in the area, focusing on the small town shelters who have no adoption group to help out. Our local (TX) adoption fee is $140, which includes spay/neuter of the dog (a voucher valued at $75 is included if too young to be sterilized), current vaccinations, a heartworm test if over 6 months of age, and a registered microchip.

We are also a Project Freedom Ride partner. We are blessed to be able to adopt dogs to those living in the Pacific Northwest and the Northeast! Our adoption fee of $400 for PFR dogs includes the cost of transport ($220 adoption fee plus $180 transport cost).

Transports are on a monthly basis and the adopter would meet their new furry family member at a designated drop off in ID, OR, or WA for the PNW or NY, CT, or VT for the NE. An application and video conference call are required for adoption on Project Freedom Ride.
We are completely donation-funded and are run solely by a volunteer group. Our hours are by appointment only. Please contact Alexis Atwood, PAW Pals Director, at pawpalshc@gmail.com with any questions you may have.
