We are Caribbean Sato Rescue, PR and we are a boyfriend/girlfriend duo that run the dog rescue out of our home here in Puerto Rico. Erin is the founder/ED and Jared is the co-founder/VP. We have a wonderful board of 3 other members, one that resides in PR, one in CO and one in UT. We also have a small group of fosters here in PR as well as in UT that have helped us out tremendously.
We do not have a formal facility as our home serves as the facility but we do all that we can for these homeless dogs and have plenty of love to give!
We started rescuing when we moved to the island in 2015 & have adopted out 125+ dogs through private adoptions in the States, PR and Canada and have been a part of many large transport efforts to other rescues in the States. We recently received our 501(c)3 status in March 2017 and hope to get grants and large donations through that, to help us save more heartbeats this year and many more to come!
Our mission is not numbers but to remain of quality over quantity. Although we wish we could rescue every single dog we see, our means are just not quite there yet and we also love that we are small and can follow each and everyone of our rescues to their new homes and watch them grow and thrive. We have made some wonderful friends with our adoptive families and have been so lucky to be able to give these dogs the amazing homes that they so deserve.
Having the opportunity to post on Adopt-A-Pet would help us out tremendously in giving us another platform to get our name out there and have one more place to post our available dogs for adoption!
