Story
Hi, my name is Tonk but my friends call me big guy. I'm a male English Bulldog. My foster mom says I am a total ham, absolutely full of love & kisses to give my furever family. I'm very puppy acting and have bursts throughout the day (doggie zoomies!) of that puppy energy. I love a fenced in yard where he can run out the afternoon zoomies and prefers to do my business in the yard, off-leash. I know the ‘sit’ command and am I VERY motivated by treats/food. I just loves to jump to give hugs or to get your attention so I could use some formal training around that. I would love a doggie playmate who matches my energy or is the calmer one in the home. I could also do well as the solo dog. Because I'm still puppy-Ish, I will need my training to continue when I get to OUR new home.    The Basics Age: 2 years Weight: 42 pounds Spayed/Neutered: Yes Microchipped: Yes Vaccines Up-to-Date: Yes On Heartworm Prevention: Yes On Flea/Tick Prevention: Yes House-Trained: No – he is getting there with regular potty breaks Crate-Trained: Yes – he needs a little nudge and a treat to get him in the crate but once in, he is calm and he will sleep in it throughout the night.  Leash Skills: Calm until he sees an animal he can chase like a bird, squirrel, etc. Once he starts pulling, he is strong! Medical: Yes, treatment for his eye (ongoing)    Likes/Dislikes  Toys: Loves a good toy to chew! He also loves to chew/suck on blankets and his bed. He doesn’t destroy them; sometimes he even falls asleep while sucking on his blanket! Other Animals: Likes dogs that are not in his face or high energy People/Kids: Not tested with small children but LOVES all the other humans he has met.  Car Rides: He likes car rides. He should be in the backseat with a doggie seat cover/cradle to catch his drool! Separation: He has not displayed any separation anxiety but when home, he loves to be next to his human all the time.  Approved Adopter must pick up Dog at Foster location. Story
Almost Home believes that every animal deserves a loving home regardless of appearance, age, or physical limitation.  We have come together to give animals in need the safe and happy life they all deserve.  Almost Home Animal Rescue believes that no animal is expendable.  Adopting a friend:The animals, lucky enough to find refuge with Almost Home, are all in loving foster homes. If you are interested in the possibility of giving one of the animals a new lease on life, please contact us. The contact information is listed at the end of each biography.  What you need to do to adopt:If you would like to adopt a pet in need from Almost Home, basically, an application must be filled out. We will check two personal references and a vet reference. If you are approved for adoption, there is a trial period of about one week to make sure this is the animal for you and you are the person for the animal. Along with the trial period, a contract must be signed that basically states that if ever you cannot keep the animal that you must return the animal to Almost Home. Last but not least, a home check will be done. Meet & Greets:An approved application is required. This does not mean that you have to adopt but that you are approved to do so if everything works out. Since we are foster based, this limits the amount of people coming to our homes.  *Due to rescuer being very ill, all her dogs are in desperate need!!!   Meatball puts the M in front of HUNK! This big ball of bulldog love is ready to plow right into your couch (and your heart). Meatball loves to flop around in the water and bask in the morning sun. He sticks to his routine and struts his stuff on the way out the door with more personality than you’ve seen in most people! Meatball found himself in a new exciting place when his owner needed a dog sitter while going out of town but he loved watching the pigs and splashing in the puddles at the ranch so much he couldn’t be convinced to leave! He loves everybody but does enjoy leaning on and hugging his pals, so he would do best in a home that doesn’t have small children or older family members. Meatball is just an all around happy guy that is searching for his forever. A good balance between quiet couch potato-ing and long walks with a harness and some guidance (or anything to splash around in) is all you need to keep this Meatball happy! *Guest Posting If you would like to meet your new best friend, contact the Adoption Coordinator at info@almosthometn.org or 865-236-0830. To fill out an application, go to www.almosthometn.org. If you can't get it to work, let us know and we will send it to you in a different format. Adoption fee $150.ADOPTION FEE: The adoption fee for a cat is $85. The adoption fee for a kitten is $100. The adoption fee does include the kittens being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. The adoption fee for a dog is $200. The adoption fee for a puppy is $250. The adoption fee does include the puppies being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. Mature pet adoption fees are sometimes reduced. The adoption fee for pure bred dogs and cats will vary due to health and age of pet. This helps support our ill animals and our mutts that get left in the system longer. We do reserve the right to change the fees higher or lower due to the circumstance of the animal but what was stated above are the usual adoption fees.  Microchipped pets will have a higher adoption fee.  Our adoption fees do not cover the cost of the vetting and care the animal has received with us and if it ever does, the money just goes back it to helping other animals in need. November 1, 2024, 8:13 pm
