Story
Pablo is a 70lb, two-year-old, neutered Olde English Bulldog. He is healthy, up to date on all vaccinations, and housebroken Pablo came from an Amish breeder in Lancaster and has been raised by a large family, with four children, two dogs, and two cats. Pablo is a fun-loving, affectionate dog with a typical bulldog personality. He enjoys running around the yard, soaking up attention, and taking cozy naps complete with loud snores! While he can get too excited and play rough, he generally gets along well with kids, cats, and other dogs. He has undergone obedience training with an e-collar and knows commands such as sit, lay down, place, extended place, recall, and walking both on and off a leash. Pablo would thrive in a home where he can receive more time, attention, and care than we can currently provide. If you feel you could provide Pablo with the loving and attentive home he deserves, please reach out. Thank you! Looking for a family within an hour from Delaware county

Story
This is Nala and she is a 13 year old Victorian bull dog. She is a sweetheart who loves to play. Ball is life for her, she loves soccer. She is the perfect side kick to any adventure. Nala enjoys nature walks and the beach. She is getting old so she can’t go to far on walks but still loves to take them. She loves to walk in shallow water and lay in her kiddy pool in the summer heat. She is also going a bit deft but can still hear some. She loves to cuddle in bed or on the couch if you let her. Recently we have had to move in with my parents and nala constantly fights with their 3 Cane Corsos. It is super dangerous for her and she is constantly locked up in a small room day and night. She deserves better. Nala loves kids and would enjoy some to play with her. She also does well with cats as she has lived with them a lot of her life. If you are looking for a big old love bug to be your best friend Nala is your girl.

These pups are in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania too!

Story
** $ 530 in pledges for the rescue that pulls ** Meet Marshall, a sweet 8-year-old senior who was surrendered to the shelter with another dog when their owner could no longer care for them. His owner had him for 7 years and described him as active, noting that he enjoys running and chasing squirrels. Marshall has shown low to medium energy at the shelter, but based on his owner's notes, adopters should be prepared for him to possibly become a higher-energy pup in a home environment. He has had good meets with other dogs at the shelter, and while he previously lived with children, we recommend that any children in the home be over the age of 13. He will need to meet any children or other dogs in the home. Although he has been a bit confused and shut down since arriving, Marshall warms up once he gets to know you. He loves treats and butt scratches, and with a little time, we're hopeful his personality will continue to shine. Marshall is seeking placement with a rescue partner or adopter. BEHAVIOR: Per foster on 2/23- Marshall is great. :) Since getting neutered, he has seemed to be more chill and less standiffish when encountering other dog on walks. He has really come out of his shell and has an attention-needing silly personality. He LOVES to snuggle but he’s also now fully comfortable when it comes to play, he loves his toys, chasing balls, and even gets his version of hoppy zoomies when he’s super excited. Per foster on 12/8- Marshall is great!! He’s completely settled in and been so good :) He seems to be fully recovered from the URI, he still has some sneezes every so often but seems to be just normal pitty allergy type stuff. We can definitely go ahead to schedule him to be neutered. I’ll add pictures to this email. As for his personality and behavior he’s so sweet. He’s a velcro for sure, always snuggled next to you SNORING haha. He also love to play, chase/ bunny hop to balls, he loveeesss to chew toys he will tear apart any toy, not even the strongest toys stand a chance but never eats it literally just chews it apart and spits it out lol. But he is a very good listener so if he starts to chew something he shouldn’t he immediately stops with intervention. Over all he’s a medium energy dog with a very sweet and loving personality. :) Per Volunteer 11/3/24: He was loose and wagging his tail when I approached his kennel. He's very easy on leash with just some slight pulling. When walking outside he got spooked by sudden noises like sirens or motorcycles. He took to me pretty quickly! Enjoyed Getting pets from me and had very loose body language. Chased after toys but didn't fetch them back. He was pretty active in the play yard for an older boy and enjoyed romping around! No issues going back in and we walked by a few other dogs and he remained very calm Per staff 10/31/24: Good walk, was very calm today. Per volunteer 10/28/24: For the first 15 minutes I spent with Marshall, he mostly ignored me. Instead, he focused on going to the bathroom and sniffing his environment. I tried to get his attention with treats. He would accept the treats I offered him, but he would then go back to sniffing around. After about 15 min of spending time together, he finally approached me for attention. Marshall allowed me to pet and scratch him all over, and he then would lean into me or nuzzle me for more attention. Marshall began to express a sweet, calm and gentle personality. He sat nicely for treats and ignored other dogs through the fence. Marshall walked at a slow pace and never pulled on the leash. He seems very housetrained. I had no issue leashing him to take him out of the kennel, and I had no problem returning him. Marshall is a wonderful boy and I enjoyed the time I spent with him. Per volunteer 10/27/24: Shy, playful. Very chill/low energy but is full of love. Per volunteer 10/20/24: Marshall is a little on the timid side. He was distracted by the smells and sounds and seemed nervous on our walk. I took him to a quieter area and he relaxed a bit but still was looking all around. He likes hot dogs and takes treats pretty well. He knows sit and will do so for some tasty treats. He enjoyed some chin scratches and I found out that he really likes butt scratches. He did good meeting a dog through the fence. 10/19/24 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION: KNOWN HISTORY: Owner surrender KENNEL PRESENTATION: Marshall was standing by the door just staring with neutral eyes and a stiff body. I tried to loosen him up with treats and baby talk but he ignored me and continued to stare forward. I reached in with the leash and put his head right through, coming out as soon as he was secured. LEASH SKILLS: Pulls minimally HANDLING: Marshall came into the eval room with a tense body and neutral face. He walked around the eval room sniffing and ignoring the handlers at first. He did not want to come up for treats or baby talk. With some time and the occasional touch, he allowed some more handling and even would solicit for booty rubs. He loves scratches and just like Sage he takes lots of time to warm up. He knows sit and paw, and will take treats nicely. He is a very kind and sweet boy and needs some treats and patience. He allowed most handling but did not like his toes being touched and pulled them away very quickly. PLAY: Minimal interest TOYS: Minimal interest MEDICAL: On 10/29, Marshall had an exam for his skin and ear issues, as well as having blood in his stool. He was bright, alert, and responsive, and allowed all handling needed for the exam. He only had mild debris in his ears, with a few scars, but no signs of skin infections or inflammation. He was coughing during the exam, but his lungs sounded clear. On 10/21, Marshall was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection (URI) or "doggy cold and started on medication. On 10/28, his symptoms were worsening with concern for progression to pneumonia, so another medication was added. During his intake exam on 10/18, Marshall was 51 pounds, had mild dental calculus, and his eyes and nose were clear. His ears were inflamed, with waxy debris, and he had inflamed skin with thin fur. He was quiet, alert, and responsive during his exam. Story
**$145 in pledges to any rescue that may pull!** **New Notes and dog meets 2/21 and 2/22** Shay ACCT-A-212023 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to length of stay and lack of space for incoming dogs. Shay must have confirmed placement with an ADOPTER, FOSTER, or RESCUE PARTNER by SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 22ND by 10:00 am. Should Shay’s medical or behavioral status change, her urgency and timeline for placement may also change. Due to being significantly overcapacity with animals and higher than usual intake, extensions are unlikely to be granted. If you are interested in an animal please contact ACCT Philly immediately. Due to limited space, timestamps may also be proceeded with early so it is imperative to let us know if you are considering adopting or tagging an animal. Shay is a spirited and playful girl bursting with energy and enthusiasm! She greets her people with full-body wiggles and loves nothing more than a good game of fetch—she’ll bring the toy back every time, ready for more fun. Shay is a social butterfly, showing excitement and affection for everyone she meets. She’s a little jumper, always ready to climb into your lap or onto anything nearby to explore. Shay also has a tender side. She may be a bit nervous at times but quickly warms up when given patience and playtime. Shay would thrive with an active family ready to channel her energy and shower her with love. While at the shelter, Shay has had several good meets with other dogs and loves to show off her playful side with canine friends! The good samaritan who found her did note that Shay and their resident dog had gotten into a fight before arriving at the shelter but did not provide any other information on the incident, so Shay will need to meet any resident dogs in the home to ensure a good compatibility. Shay enjoys meeting new people, but can be a little nervous at first and would prefer a home that is adult only or with children 15+. If you are looking for a sweet and active girl, then stop on by to meet Shay! MEDICAL NOTES: On 2/12: PCR test taken & came back negative. Placed into main kennels. On 2/4 per exam: Shay has been observed to have shelter acquired upper respiratory infection (URI), or a "doggy cold". They have been started on medication, and will be monitored for resolution of the respiratory infection. PCR test taken & came back positive for pneumovirus. Placed into ISO. On 1/26 per intake exam: Eyes - Ears - slightly red Nose - crusty Mouth/Teeth/Gums - white pink moist gums Coat & Skin - clear Urogenital - intact female Gait/Mobility - no lameness Attitude: Q.A.R friendly Overall Assessment: poss. in heat otherwise looks healthy BEHAVIOR NOTES: Per volunteer 2/22/25: I had Shay out today to give her some love and play time. She’s such a perfect wiggly girl! She looooveesss toys and has a blast in the play yard. So excited and so happy. She had multiple good dog meets and one drop leash meet- so wiggly and playful! Really dog friendly Per staff on 2/21: Did a foster meet with Shay earlier and she did great! She gave me no issues leashing and excitedly walked through the building. She did pause when she saw the fosters and did take a minute to warm up to them (they were sitting on the ground and let her come to them). I gave her a toy and that helped her open up to them since she proudly shoved it in their faces. She started getting more wiggly and wiggly by the second and was very playful with her toy. We took her outside to go in the play yard but another dog was in there. We let them meet through the fence and she was very happy to engage with them! She's a bit strong on the leash since she's an energetic girl. She was jumpy with the fosters at times but never mouthy. They really liked her but are a first time foster and overall weren't confident they were the best fit for all the energy she had so they took another dog. She allowed all handling and gave me no issues returning to the kennel. Walksheet as of 2/1: Shay was taken for a walk on January 26th, January 27th, twice on January 28th, once on January 31st, and once on February 1st. During Shay's walks on January 26th and 27th, no interaction notes were provided and no issues were noted. During her first walk on January 28th, mild issues with jumpiness were found, and her energy level was high. Shay's handler noted that she 'loves fetch!' During Shay's second walk on January 28th, mild issues with the leash and jumpiness were noted, and her energy level was high. Her handler mentioned that she is 'so playful' and 'strong on leash'. During Shay's walk on January 31st, mild issues were again found with the leash and jumpiness, and her energy level was medium. Her handler noted that she had a good dog meet, and is 'very strong'. During Shay's walk on February 1st, no issues were found, and her handler noted that she had 'great!! dog meets'. On 2/1 per volunteer: Second time having her out this week- super easy to leash again! Such a sweet and playful girl! She had several good dog meets. She met 3 different dogs and did great. Super wiggly play style, likes to gently jump up then lay down and do play bows. She took corrections from other dogs really well, one dog gave her a few grumbles and Shay would always give her more space when she did. Did great getting dressed up at the photoshoot and such a sweet friendly girl On 1/28 per volunteer: Such a sweet girl! She greeted me with a loose body and wagging tail and was very easy to leash. She pulls quite a bit on leash so would recommend a harness. Such a playful and high energy girl! She loves to play and LOVES squeaky toys. She loves to shake them around and squeak them. When she squeaked them she did play bows and got so excited! Pretty jumpy when she gets excited- she jumped up on me when she was playing but body was completely wiggly. Took pets from me over but much more interested in playing. She met a very small dog through the fence and was super playful! Did play bows, had a wiggly body and really just wanted to play. No issues going back into kennel, sweet gal! On 1/28 per staff: Shay got out for some activity time today! She was easy to leash in kennel, and greeted me with soft eyes. She pulled a bit on our walk, but was so wiggly and excited when we got to the eval room! She greeted me with full body wiggles and wags, and then sniffed around the room curiously. She excitedly mouthed at a toy and brought it up to me. She was a lot of energy! She would jump into me with toys in her mouth, trying to get me to play. Shay really enjoyed fetch, and brought the toy back every time! She was a bit snatchy with them, and would sometimes try to snatch them back before I could throw them, but she was just very aroused and excited to be playing. Even after several minutes of fetch, she wanted to keep going! Overall, Shay is a super sweet, playful girl that loves her toys! On 1/26 per staff: BEHAVIOR EVALUATION KENNEL PRESENTATION: Shay was at the front of the kennel with neutral dilated eyes and a wagging tail. I reached in with the leash and she sniffed it curiously. Once she felt comfortable she allowed easy leashing and came right out. LEASH SKILLS: Pulls minimally– nervous on leash, stopping to look around HANDLING : Shay is a ball of conflicted energy. She is a bit nervous but does very cute zoomies with her body curled for optimal distance. She is very affectionate and jumps up on my lap many times for attention. When I called her she came over with a wagging tail but sniffed me and walked away. She came over for a treat and sat patiently for it but did not take it. This beautiful girl loves to climb anything she can get her eyes on, chairs, people, tables etc and allowed me to pick her up to put her down. When another (male) staff member came into the room she loosened right up compared to how she was with me and darted over to him excitedly with a wagging tail and smile she jumped all over him and was super playful. Once he left I tried to initiate that play but she was uninterested. PLAY: Minimal interest – short lived TOYS Trades for other toys – play growls when she has toys On 1/25 per staff: Got called to help take Shay back since the finder said she was growling at people outside. When Shay greeted me she had a wagging tail, soft eyes, and was doing full body wiggles. She allowed for leashing easily and came right in for sniffs. She was very social and sweet with me, jumping around and allowing some all over pets. She was stress panting with bloodshot eyes, so she was definitely stressed, but remained loose and wiggly with me. She met some other people and was equally sweet with them. When going to kennel she pancaked at her door, but allowed me to pick her up and lift her into kennel without an issue. The initial growling may have been from stress, or the finder may have mistaken her bulldog grunts/grumbles/snorts/breathing as growling.
