DOG DAY OUT PARTICIPANTS: Staff noted that I have a high pray drive so I do not do well with cats. Please do not take me to a place where we may encounter some small feline friends. I enjoy long walks or runs, lots of belly rubs and overall being outside. Thank you for considering me for your dog day out adventure. INSIGHTS FROM MY DOG DAY OUT:`Bilal was a joy to spend the day with! He was very polite in the car and knew “sit”, “treat”, and “walk”. He was amazing on the leash - didn’t pull and wasn’t phased by squirrels or other people. Although we walked 3.5 miles, I could tell he is a couch potato at heart and would be happy just snuggling with his human! He definitely has that sweet pitty personality!``Bilal was such a cool guy!! We walked up to UNC where he got lots of pets from students. We sat on the quad and he napped while I got some school work done. He was fantastic the entire day. He did well for the car rides. He was strong around the shelter likely from all the stress and energy of it, but once he got out at my apartment for the walk to campus, he didn’t pull on the leash at all. He didn’t react to humans, children, or other dogs. He was super friendly and LOVED the attention from students. At one point he had about seven people petting him and was flopped over on his belly soaking up all the love. I’ve worked with pit bulls and similar breeds many times and he was by far the most relaxed and well behaved. He knows the sit command and responded well to “leave it” when passing squirrels. Though he enjoyed the walk, he got lazy at the end and was practically dragging his paws. He is a couch potato at heart and enjoys snuggling up next to humans for pets. He also took treats gently and was unfazed by students petting and squishing his face, so I believe he would do great addition to any family.``Had such a fun day with sweet sweet Bilal. We went on a nice walk through my neighborhood, which thoroughly tired him out! He was happy to come back and relax on the couch, while also getting lots of lots of love from my roommates. We then went to go get some coffee and take
