Russel was found on US1 by the Marina over 1,763 (too long) days ago! Russel is a great dog that is a Misfit because he carries unresolved dominance issues. What this means is that if you ask Russel to do something, he is a happy and willing participant, but if you tell Russel to do something, things can go South.In the right hands, Russel is a peach that is playful, will do anything for a treat, is affectionate, loves belly rubs, and even dances!In the wrong hands, Russel will guard himself and choose dominance over submission.A family that understands his need for confidence boosting to thrive through routine and structure, can keep him as an only child, and give him the freedom to find his way would provide Russel a life where he can leave the shelter and find his best friend!Requirements: Martingale Collar; Misfit, Handler Appointment Only; Resource GuardingAll of our dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date with age appropriate vaccinations, heart worm or feleuk/FIV tested, fecal tested, rabies and tag, and microchipped before being placed in your home. Story
I am all potato with a face sure to fall head over heels in love with! I was surrendered due to lack of time for my needs... As a mini English, I do come with a list of them... While I do love kids, I get anxious around young screaming children... 5 years old seems to be my sweet spot. Someone that stays home is my best fit as I need frequent potty breaks or I will relieve myself in the house and have been known to identify as a beaver and chew wood when bored and alone. I require face cleaning around my wrinkle folds and have some tentativeness with walking on the leash... I prefer to lay on my side for belly rubs. I love playing with other dogs, toys and of course being pampered. Sadly I am also heartworm positive, but have recently finished my treatments and am ready for a forever home! I am currently in a foster home, but if you are interested in adopting me, please speak with the Front Office staff to talk about next steps! Requirements: Martingale Collar; Bulldog Respiratory awareness & meds; Foster to Adopt- Heartworm positiveAll of our dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date with age appropriate vaccinations, heart worm or feleuk/FIV tested, fecal tested, rabies and tag, and microchipped before being placed in your home. Shy, quiet and somewhat timid, I blossom in one overnight visit! I am a huge fan of car rides, also a HUGE fan of toys, and playing. It is a requirement for me to take every toy out of the toy box and place them on my bed. Then comes out my goofy side! I am funny, playful and a bit of a clown! Once I have all my toys out and positioned, I will then bring them to you, one by one, as gifts! After this fun is over, a few games of tug o war has to be played and then I can't wait to stretch out on my choice of fluffy beds with a smile as I relax. If this isn't enough to steal your heart, I'm betting after a night of cuddling right next to you in bed will do it! All I need is no other pets or a dog that matches my vibe!I am currently in a foster home, but if you are interested in making me yours forever please speak with our Office Staff and they can let you know what steps to take!
