Meet Fergus! A whip smart, gentle and sweet Border Collie. He's very treat motivated, sits nicely and is extremely gentle when taking treats. He's happy go lucky and wants to meet everyone he passes. On a recent walk with one of our amazing volunteers, he was introduced to young kids. He sat patiently for them and was comfortable receiving pets all over from them! He loves other dogs, and plays well in small groups. He can be dominant and assertive with other males, but gets along wonderfully with females so far. He'd be an excellent match for breed experienced owners with proper outlets for his drive and stamina, like ongoing training or even dog sports. But don't worry, they absolutely LOVE pets and affection, one scratch and they dissolve into a puddle waiting for mw! Both dogs are extremely affectionate and want to be with their people at all times. They love other dogs and are very responsive to verbal cues, though they are still working on commands, and are looking for a forever home that can continue training. They love to move and are working on leash training with their foster family. They are very smart dogs and would do great with a job. They've been great when meeting kids, understanding the need to be very gentle, so could do well in a family setting. They're almost there with house training, and need a forever home that will keep them on a routine to avoid the occasional accident in the home.
