Story
Poppy is an adorable young pup who came into rescue with an injured leg. We didn’t know the extent of the injury – would she need surgery? Would she possibly lose the leg? Would the leg recover? Poppy had a consultation with the orthopedic surgeon, and the outlook is good! It’s the type of injury that might heal without surgery, so the plan is 6 weeks of strict rest, and then reassess. If things are on track, no surgery. If the leg is not healing properly, then we’ll move forward with surgery, which is estimated at $8,500 to $9,900, and 10 weeks of cage rest. We’ll know in early October if Poppy will need surgery. Keep your fingers and paws crossed for Poppy! Our adoption process begins with our adoption questionnaire: https://norcalgsprescue.org/adoption-questionnaire/ (Please note that we adopt primarily within Northern California and our minimum age for kids is 6) If you'd like to see what Poppy's been up to, check out her posting in the Available Foster Dogs section: https://norcalgsprescue.org/available-dogs/. That's where you'll find all the latest info about all of our available dogs.
