Meet Honey! Honey was brought into an overcrowded, high kill shelter in Pampa TX after being picked up as a stray. Luckily for Honey, our Pampa rescue partners scooped her up out of the shelter and she has now arrived to Colorado to find her perfect forever home.
Honey is believed to be about 1 year old and she's just 13 lbs. She is a gorgeous, silly Italian Greyhound mix, with possibly some chihuahua as well.
Honey is dog friendly, sweet with people, and so adorable!

"Honey is a super cute, cuddly little girl. She is very playful. She loves playing with her toys as well as people.
She is energetic on walks and would do well with someone who likes going out or has a backyard. She gets super excited meeting dogs on walks and I think she would love a playmate. But it's not a deal breaker. She does warm up to women sooner than men. She started out with us a bit timid, but warmed up very very fast and showed her adorable personality! She took a little longer to warm up to my husband than she took to warm up with me, but she LOVES him now.
Honey is very food motivated and so is easy to train. She knows sit, down, place commands, and inside the crate commands. She sleeps through the night in her crate.
She loves her people and really wants to be with them. She is my work from home buddy and cuddles next to me the whole time. Overall an amazing dog who is loyal, has great temperament who loves her people and wants to be with them all the time.

We don't know if Honey has had any formal training. A (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement group training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence for a young dog whose self-esteem will fly high while she masters her skills. Training is so important in the future behaviors of every dog. It's for this reason that we're unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't make this loving choice.
Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area.
Our training requirement is to help every adoption be successful.
Honey has been fully vetted, is up to date on her vaccines, and spayed.
Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial.
Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year.
